Papertrey January Blog Hop Challenge

Another Blog Hop over at PTI.  The theme for today was hearts, quite appropriate, I'd say with Valentine's Day right around the corner.  I was working on a get well card that I will enter into the Make It Monday challenge as well.  Incorporated some hearts and here it is:

I used stamps from five different sets to come up with the sentiment on the inside.

PTI Supplies: Hawaiian Shores CS, Stampers Select White CS
Inside Out: Birthday Stamps, Big Hugs Stamp Set
Other Supplies:Hog Rest-Woodware Craft Collection,
             Love Post Script-Hampton Arts
Get Well 2 You- The Stamps of Life
        Ranger Archival Ink-Jet Blk
Wink of Stella-Black

Documented Life Project: week 2 & MIM

So, yes, we are in week three of DLP but I am just posting week 2. You can find everything here. We are still tackling the Blank Page for the Month of January. The Art Challenge for the 2nd week was Gesso and the journal prompt was: "The beginning is always today"  by Mary Shelley.

Here is my page:  I layered ink and Gesso using stencils until I was happy with the outcome.
I really want to add something to the right side but I just haven't come up with anything I like yet.
Possibly one of those chubby Scribbly bird stamps by Dina Wakley. So until then, this is it!!

The Make It Monday this week was # 197: Homemade Foam Stickers.  I found some glittery foam sheets at the dollar store that I used but I did add a layer of chipboard because it was quite thin. At least I was able to eliminate the glitter step. I used The PTI Headline Alphabet to cut out the "NEW" letters and I adhered them on top of a Tim Holtz arrow tied with twine.  I also used the Scribble Circles die,Stitched Ticket Die and Hibiscus Burst CS from Papertrey Ink.

That all for today!  See you real soon!!     The color wheel is the next art challenge for the DLP!!

Documented Life Project, week 1.

So I decided to start a DLP this year and found this great place to help me do it which you can find here.  The artists are fabulous and everyone is so helpful. It does not cost anything to join in on the fun. Lots of free classes too. I did my very first art journal page, EVER! Every week they have a prompt which was book pages for the first week. The idea is to use them on your pages in some way. I also chose a word for the year which is "TIME".   I incorporated these things together and came up with this:

I am using the smaller Dylusions Creative Journal by Dyan Reaveley and it's great because it lies flat while working on it.

I used vintage music and ledger paper, a dictionary page, a paper bag and some other things in my stash. It was such a fun process, I can't wait until Saturday when the next prompt is revealed.

Let me know what you think or if you have any questions.....just leave me a comment!!

Thanks for stopping!

Make It Monday #195: 2014 A La Carte

This week's Make it Monday was our choice from all the previous Make It Mondays in 2014.  One of the ones I did not get a chance to play along with was #193: Camouflaging Die-cuts. I really wanted to try this because I love the look.

I needed a card to send to a special friend from our church that is not able to get there anymore. I wanted him to know that we were thinking of him. My daugther is always giving hugs out at church so I hope this will bring a smile to his face.

So here it is, CAS for sure!  Thanks for looking!

PTI SUPPLIES: Hugs die, Stampers Select White,  Banner sentiments.
OTHER: Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Broken China and Mustard Seed. Noir Black Palette Ink.

See ya real soon and Happy New Year!
