July 4th treats for kids

I wanted to make something up for my nieces and nephews this year for the 4th.  I'm usually
not to keen on the candy thing but I pushed that aside this year. I did get a few small toys but couldn't seem to tie them in with the cup of candy.

I first put in two pieces of paper to separate the cup into sections and went to town!  Who knew there
were red, white and blue goldfish crackers out there!? I just happened upon them. I also included:

fireballs
red hot candies
blue gummy bears
gummy rings(circles)
tootsie pops(red, white and blue found at the dollar store)
a pinwheel
pop rocks
an old cupcake star pic
and to tie it all together I typed up:  "Hope your Holiday is RED HOT!" and stuck it
on a Tim Holtz memo pin.  Tied some bakers twine around the cup and stuck some white paper frills by Doodlebug on with a glue dot and what do you know,   I've got a zippy looking cup of sugar!!!

Happy Fourth to all!!   God Bless America!

Teacher Thank You Cards

Okay, for some reason, I couldn't get these posted with the others. I will learn as I go I guess.
Very simple but sometimes, I like simple.  I used patterned paper with books on it mounted on navy cardstock, a little brown ribbon, a hero Arts thank you stamp, the books and globe stamp from Stampendous and a brad. I attached my ribbon with a Tim Holtz tiny attacher (my favorite stapler) and there you have it.

The next card was just a piece of yellow lined paper on green cardstock. I stamped "just a little note" from a Technique Tuesday set and "Thanks" from The Paper Studio and added a colored paperclip. It really took me about 2 minutes!   What are your favorite sentiment stamp sets?

Jimmy Buffet and Thank you cards

Hubby and I hit the road and went to see Jimmy Buffet in Pitts. PA.  What an awesome show. Lots of Parrotheads and tons of good ol FUN. Here's a couple pictures. One with the "fins to the left and fins to the right".  If you've never been, well, it should be on your bucket list definately.

Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to all out there (probably not many Dad's reading this) but enjoy your day with those
deserving men.  Here's a card for the day that I didn't want to post early for obvious reasons. I used a stamp from Father Knows Best (PTI), patterned paper and a plaid border punch (EK success I think). Then I used the packaging from a bag of tilapia from our local Wegmans grocery store (Reduce, Reuse and Recycle!) for the fish strip!

I had a very busy long weekend while CKC was here in town. Took my favorite class with Shelby from Embellish It! Can't wait until next year. I always enjoy seeing the women that run the show. Thanks for a great time ladies!

Happy Birthday SAILOR!

Okay, here goes!   I hope this works and my goal in the beginning is to post weekly to start. Please wish me luck. I am NOT technically inclined.

Anyway, I needed to make a birthday card for a girlfriend that LOVES sailing and this is what I came up with. Very simple. I used The Nantucket Stack by DCWV and the Happy Birthday is a PTI(Papertrey Ink)stamp set (Inside and Out Birthday) I also used a Stampin Up punch(red die cut shape).  Then I wanted to use a sailors knot so I looked it up online. This would make a great Father's Day card too  That's all for now. Stop back and see if I'm living up to my goal.
