Make it Monday #267: Assembly Line Card-Making

Today I joined in on a Make It Monday challenge over at Papertrey Ink and Laurie gave us some tips
and tricks when making cards assembly line style.

This was perfect for me today as I am still creating cards for the Caring Hearts Card Drive.  The fabulous Jennifer McGuire is how I found out about this great card drive. Vera Yates started this 7 years ago and it has grown bigger and bigger every year. They collected over 22,000 cards last year for the elderly that live in nursing homes! My own goal this year is to do more than 100. I am well on my way but the dead line is fast approaching.

Laurie is on the same page that I am on as far as wanting everything cut, organized and ready to go.
This makes the process so much easier. I cut first, stamp and then assemble. I used a variety of stamps and dies that you see here but particularly Tremendous Treats:Christmas by Papertrey Ink , Pretty Patches:Tree by WPlus9 and Calendar Critters by Taylored Expressions. Paper is by Stampin' Up!

And here they are:
I still need to finish stamping envelopes and get them ready to ship by this weekend.
You can find all the info on the card drive here!

Have a fabulous week everyone!!

Make It Monday #262:Pumpkin Stamps 3 Ways

I thought this would be a fun challenge to participate in especially with the fall season upon us now.
So, Ashley challenged us to use our pumpkin stamps in three different ways. Fine with me, it's all about getting the most out of our stamps, right?

I don't have that many pumpkins but I do have the PTI set Fall Elegance so I used the pumpkins in that set. I did three different tags and here they are:
If you look closely you can see the pattern of the pumpkin stamps in the eyes, nose and mouth of the Jack-o-lantern. I thought it came out pretty cool. The second tag I just stamped around the edge to frame the tag and the last one was quite traditional. All kinds of fun, hope you enjoyed! Any questions, leave me a comment! Thanks so much!!

SAF 2016: Color Blocking

First of all, I was not the least bit excited about this challenge.  I wasn't sure about the look
and I am not really into fussy cutting those masks.  Andy Warhol inspired Lexi and she did a fabulous
job on her card found here. Thanks for all the tips and tricks Lexi! They sure helped!!
I, on the other hand, need practice and more patience! For my first, not too bad but I do need practice.

So, here goes:

I snuck in some Pure Poppy ink and PTI Stampers Select White but all the other colors were
various other inks to match the Buffalo colors I wanted to go with.  I think with some more
practice, it might be a card I would do again, love the idea. Thanks for stopping! I got the stamp set at my local store, Buffalo Stamps and Stuff

Papertrey Ink July Blog Hop Challenge

It didn't hit me until about an hour ago that today was the blog hop over at PTI. I didn't want to miss it because I remembered I loved the colors in the inspiration photo below:
Blog Hop Inspiration
I picked up on the rug design and the colors also but kept it clean and simple.

Here it is:
PTI CS and ink, quatrefoil die. Hero Arts thanks die.

SAF 2016: Farewell

I know I say this every year but I can't believe it's over! Another year gone and I haven't missed one yet. This is something I really look forward to for some crafty ME time and it goes by way too fast.

Anyway, I had my daughter take a picture of me since I was solo today with my favorite cards.

I hope everyone had as much fun as I did today. I saved a couple of cards to do tomorrow to stretch out the fun.  See ya then!

SAF 2016: WATERCOLOR LIKE A MASTER

The talented Kay Miller gives us tips and tricks for this challenge to help us watercolor like a master!
This is a gorgeous inspiration piece!! Unfortunately, I didn't go this route.

Inspiration 3

I wanted to be different and do something other than flowers but I think I will opt for the
flowers the next time around.
Here is my card:
I think that's about the end for tonight. I will do my color blocking card when I am a bit
more awake tomorrow. Good night for now.

SAF 2016: POINTILLISM PLAY WITH HEATHER NICHOLS

Today Heather shows us how to do a cool dotting technique called pointillism.
 Very cool and fun too!

Here is the card that she did using this technique:
IMG_8541
And this is what I came up with:

I really love the results and I decided to leave the sentiment off the front of the card.
I'm not sure how much I would use this technique even though I love the results,
seems like it took FOREVER!

All PTI inks were used, Pure Poppy CS, PTI Pierced Circles and the stamp is
 Mondo Magnolia by Ellen Hutson.
Thanks for stopping by!

SAF 2016: Mastering Drips & Splatters

Lizzie Jones does a great job with her tutorial today and shows us how to drip and splat!!
She gets her inspiration from Jackson Pollock, he was so fun to watch!
Here is the card she made:
Brighter Days Card 1
And here is mine:
My yellow paint really lightened up when it dried and I couldn't seem to get the
paint to splatter like I wanted it to when doing the bigger drops. All in all, I got another
birthday card ready for my birthday club!

Enjoy the rest of the evening!

SAF 2016: MASTERPIECE INSPIRATIONS WITH THE TEAM

So, this is the piece of art that inspired Amy and her card.

This piece spoke to me as well and

Amy-card

all I could think of was Meadow Greens. So here is the final product:

SAF 2016:Gilded in Gold

Danielle shows us a pretty cool technique today using gold leaf. Now, I have this product somewhere
in my house but I could not put my hands on it. I found a rub-on product, in my stash, made by Viva called Inka Gold Metallic Rub. It looks vey similar so I went with it. I didn't want to purchase more gold leaf when I know I have some!

Anyway, here are the notecards she made:

SAF Monogram1

Quite inspiring,wouldn't you say?
I decided to make an inspired note card set. Right now I only have "Lord" and "Grace"
word dies but I do plan to get "Faith" and "Prayer" so I think this would make a great set!

Here's how they came out:
I still don't have the mini stamp set for Grace so it'll have to wait.

This is before the sentiment(lighting is better)

and after:
I love the results of this one. It even looks like there's a bird flying in the clouds!

I am failing in keeping up but still having fun!!

SAF 2016:Starry Night

Amy showed us how to create a starry night with different mediums. Now, I  love to use
my inks and ink blending tools but I do it frequently because it's pretty quick and easy.

Today I decided to play with watercolor because it's fun and you never know what you'll
end up with.

Here is one of the inspiration photos by Van Gogh, love it!
Inspiration 1

I used Gansai Tambi watercolors & acrylic paint, and created this card:

I really like the results of this one and it was so much fun!!

See you soon!

Master Color Recipe Challenge

Good Morning!!!!

I hope everyone is ready for this fun filled day. I know I am, and have been looking forward
to some crafty ME time!! This year I will strive to blog and post as the day goes on....we'll
see how that works I guess !

Anyway, the first challenge was a color recipe. I chose this one.

I am trying to get out of my box and I loved the pink and orange recipe
but I decided to go with a color combo that I would not normally choose to
challenge myself a bit more. I picked this one:
Georgia-OKeeffe-card
Georgia O’Keeffe
So, here is my take on the challenge:

First time inking up Floral Sketches for me. I seemed to have a little trouble lining
up the second layer, anyone else have trouble with this?  I added a little water
with a water brush when I finished stamping just to soften the edges a bit.
Thanks for stopping and on to the next challenge!
Any questions, don't hesitate to ask!!

A Masterpiece(in my mind)

Let us begin the festivities with Stamp-a-faire 2016 at Papertrey Ink.
I am attempting to prepare my inks, paper and stamps amoung everything else!

Anyway, I just wanted to post what I consider a masterpiece.
I made this many, many years ago and I don't cross stitch anymore so when
I look at it, I really consider it a work of art and it makes me happy.

I hope everone has a great day getting inky!!

A Great Crafty Day!

After a hard day of crafting, I salvaged ALL the cards that had issues and managed to "fix" them
to the point of feeling good about giving them now.  Here is a picture of them all.

We tried a few new techniques which I need to work on a bit, but in the end, we had a great time!

Here is each card on it's own:
Black Magic Coloring by Gina K is the technique I used here.
Another Gina K tutorial, Embossing Over Water Color

We then moved on to Handmade Botanicals, again by Gina K!
This card is in my previous post, Make It Monday: Score Lines

And to end this lengthy post(for me, anyway):
My Scribbly Bird by Dina Wakley and the realistic looking droplets. This was
my first attempt at this technique so I didn't think it was half bad. Gotta give ALL
the credit to Ryn from Designs by Ryn. The link is for this tutorial so be sure to
check it out, no glossy accents or anything, Love this!!

Ask any questions but for now, I am off to bed after a busy, crafty, happy day!!

TTFN,
Jen

Make It Monday #244: Score Lines

I have gotten a bit of my mojo back, yipee! Not that I really lost it but I have not had much time lately to craft. I invited a friend over and we crafted the day away, thank you Laurie for joining me!!

As I was creating, I remembered the MIM over at Papertrey Ink. So I decided to have a go at it.
Laurie shows us some tips with SCORE LINES and has a few ideas that I never thought of myself!

I was feeling quite motivated so I made some of my own woodgrain paper . A great tutorial by Karen   D. and it was so easy to do! Thank you Karen!! This is where the scoring came in quite handy!

This is a card I found on pinterest that I lifted, beautifully done! You can find
it here. Gotta give credit where credit is due!
                                                              and here is my card:

I used many different supplies but if anyone has any questions what they might be, please do
not hesitate to ask. I love your comments and questions! And a big shout out to Karen for the
woodgrain tutorial!!

Papertrey Ink March Blog Hop

I cannot believe Easter is on Sunday!! It amazes me how time goes faster with age. I mean we are already 1/4 of the way through 2016!

Anyway, I finally got a chance to sit this morning and do what I love. I made this card for my sister in mind. She sent me some happy mail a couple weeks ago for no reason at all. What a treat!! I know she won't see this even if I post on Facebook because she does not have an account.

I wanted to partake in the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop
                           Blog-hop-logo
Here is one of the inspiration photos:

Sadly the last challenge for Papertrey Ink's Anniversary this year

Here is the paper crafting alphabet that I used for this challenge:

Paper-Crafting-Alphabet-web

I went with my last name "SETH":
I incorporated stitching, emboss resist technique, twine and I also heat embossed.

Here is a birthday card I created with these requirements:

The Celebrate sentiment is from "Fancy That" Stamp set.
I used Distress inks in Candied apple, Twisted Citron snd Broken China.
The stitched circle stamp is an oldie but a goodie from Prima,

That does it for tonight. I hope everyone had as much fun as I did!!

Papertrey Ink: Dress Up Inspiration Challenge

Enjoying the Papertrey Ink Anniversay Celebration this week, you can find the details about this challenge here

So, I found a black and white shirt on pinterest. It was floral and had a touch of fushia in it.
Here is the card that I came up with for the day 2 challenge.

And I must say that I love, love, love my light box the Foldio2 that I purchased here.

Have a great day!!

Create Along With Us:Anniversary Week

I just loved the card that Heather shared with us using her new Be set. You can see more about the card here.  It is simple but so pretty, so I lifted it using different PTI products and here is my version:

Thanks for stopping!!!! Any questions? Don't hesitate to ask!!

Papertrey Ink Anniversary Challenge: Grab and Craft

I had so much fun playing along this week with PTI and all these challenges. I just wish I would get on a blogger's schedule and learn to post on a regular basis. Anyway, this was one of my favorite challenges.  I grabbed what was on my desk and went to work. I think it's my favorite so far.

I am in a birthday club so I like to have birthday cards on hand. I also like
to decorate the envelope and then it's set to go in case I forget.

Hope you like it!! Thanks for looking!!

Papertrey Ink Day 1 Challenge:Color Recipe Cards

I wanted to participate in the color challenge today and I decided to go with Ashley's color combo

Ashley's-colors

I had the perfect patterned paper and an idea to boot so I got to work.

Here is my end result. My Papertrey Ink product is the soft stone & Stampers Select
Cardstock. I got so into my card that I almost forgot about that one tidbit of a requirement.
Anyway, here it is:

Have fun everyone!!

Papertrey Ink Anniversary Challenge

I decided to play along with PTI for the Snail Mail and Color Pop Challenges today. I ended up with summer sunrise, orange zest and pure poppy for my colors. I also added harvest gold CS. I combined that with a thank you card to send all the workers in the warehouse. Here is the outcome:

Hope you enjoy!

Happy Groundhog Day!!

Just a quick post to say Happy Groundhog Day!!
