Make It Monday #33: Frosted Images

It seems that I cannot have enough birthday cards this month so here's another using the same frosted images
technique. I love the way it works with this stamp because using the white on top and blending, softens it so.
Check out the challenge here: http://nicholeheady.typepad.com/capture_the_moment/make-it-monday-33-frosted-images-participants.html
PTI Supplies: Double Banner Die and Simple Sentiments stamp

Any questions, just leave me a comment. I love to hear from everyone!

Make It Monday #33: Frosted Images

I had this image in my head from a place on Owasco Lake, NY called  Southpoint. I have many
wonderful memories from this time in my life. Among those memories I can see the beautiful purple clematis growing so tall with so many blossoms. I always loved it!! Now I have a clematis of my own. It's a different color, but it always makes me warm and fuzzy when I look at it and remember so many good times with my family at the lake house.  Anyway, I wanted to make an image like that clematis and I came up with this card

Another Birthday Card

Wow, It's already Friday!  Where did the week go? I have another birthday card for you today. I have an abundance of birthdays in September so I can never have enough.  I used the acrylic paint technique again with some grungy Tim Holtz stamps. The grungier the better with this technique.  This is snow cap white on black paper. The dies are the new Creatopia ones that Spellbinders and Xyron just came out with recently.
I ended up just folding them over the top of the card.  Stamped "wish" from a Fiskars set that I had, added some bling and there you have it!

Everyone have a GREAT weekend. I hope to create some more, so stay tuned!  Thanks for stopping!

Happy Birthday Michael!

Here's a real quick card I did for my brother Mike. His birthday isn't until the 18th but I've got
to get it in the mail. I made it simple without lots of embellies due to mailing it across the miles. I did
however continue with the MIM challenge over at     http://nicholeheady.typepad.com/capture_the_moment/

The challenge was to use acrylic paint with your stamps. I used this hero arts grid stamp and some Ranger pearl paint. It came out kind of distressed and was happy with the look.  I then die cut  mat stack 4 from some scrap paper and stamped it with Half & Half, Big & Bold Wishes and Tiny Treats: Birthday.   Then
I cut the edge with a Tim Holtz On The Edge Die.    A quick and easy card.   Birthday wishes to you Mike!!
Love and miss you much!!!!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Make It Monday #31: Creating Backgrounds With Non-background Stamps

I needed to get a little stash of baby cards so that's how I decided on this MIM and here's the link:

Make It Monday #30: Colored Pencils

Here's my take on the MIM over at

http://nicholeheady.typepad.com/capture_the_moment/
I do not own copics myself and I'm not ready to purchase them yet. For the amount of coloring I do I can easily get away with colored pencils and distress inks.

PTI Supplies:  Raspberry fizz card stock and felt, double ended banner die and Everyday Button Bits(sentiment)

Other supplies: Memento ink, metallic card stock, cuttlebug heart embossing folder, cut up prima flower for the heart and heart brad. Nellie's scallop die and bakers twine.

This is for a friend that is missing her cat. I hope it brings a smile to her face!
