First of all I want to say thank you to all the wonderful birthday wishes from everyone. I had a terrific day and some quality time spent with my fabulous Mom whom drove two hours to make my birthday EXTRA special. I also had a great birthday surprise(from my daughter) when I got home after a romantic dinner with my DH.
So, this card is headed for the mailbox as soon as I get this posted. I wanted to partake in the Make It Monday challenge today that Dawn Mcvey is hosting over on Nichole's Blog.
I used a My Minds Eye card base to begin. Half & Half die for my glittery tab with Martha Stewart glitter. I just masked off the edge, applied some glue and then glitter. Punched a few hearts out.Backed them with vintage cream CS so they would pop out a bit.
Adhered this to my card base.
I then die cut a doily details out of vintage cream CS. Stamped Thanks Mom with Mat Stack 4 and Women of Life Stamp sets. Masked that off with a circle and added some Tea Dye Duo and stamped it with BB: Text Style II. Then stamped "You're the best" with Flower Fusion 5 in Dark Chocolate Ink. Adhere this with some foam tape and I was done. This was a great way to add a little sparkle and I do like the finished card, why not head over to The Make it Monday link above and join us this week???
A place for me to share my love of paper crafting and other things that get me through this thing called life.

Happy Birthday Michael!
Here's a real quick card I did for my brother Mike. His birthday isn't until the 18th but I've got
to get it in the mail. I made it simple without lots of embellies due to mailing it across the miles. I did
however continue with the MIM challenge over at http://nicholeheady.typepad.com/capture_the_moment/
The challenge was to use acrylic paint with your stamps. I used this hero arts grid stamp and some Ranger pearl paint. It came out kind of distressed and was happy with the look. I then die cut mat stack 4 from some scrap paper and stamped it with Half & Half, Big & Bold Wishes and Tiny Treats: Birthday. Then
I cut the edge with a Tim Holtz On The Edge Die. A quick and easy card. Birthday wishes to you Mike!!
Love and miss you much!!!!
Thanks for stopping by today!

Happy 50th birthday card
Today is a friend's 50th birthday and here's the card I made for him:
I used The Paper loft Back Country Collection (Backpack and Marked Trail). It's a great collection for masculine cards which always seem to be a challenge for me. I used dark blue cardstock for the card base.
Used the Backpack pp for the large background and an inch strip of Marked Trail pp. Then I used the PTI mat stack 4 stamps and die and stamped kraft cs in paris dusk(memento). Then stamped 50 with the PTI Outline Alphabet and embossed it in white. Adhered it with pop dots for dimension. I cut a double ended banner(PTI) in dark blue cs and stamped HB in white. Attached a star brad. Added a sentiment inside and I was done.
Back tomorrow with a set of cards I'm working on today. Thanks for stopping.
