November 2011 Blog Hop

Welcome everyone to the November Papertrey Blog Hop!  We are so thrilled to see you here!  First, the challenge...
The-Challenge
November Blog Hop Inspiration
For this month's blog hop inspiration we've selected something perfect for the upcoming holidays.  Embrace the festive red and green color scheme or perhaps the gingham and toile patterns that are prominent.  The ice skates, evergreens and snowflakes used to adorn the banister could possibly be another source of inspiration.  We look forward to seeing all of your interpretations of this beautiful photo!

You can find the challenge here: http://nicholeheady.typepad.com/capture_the_moment/
This is exactly what I needed to inspire me to do a project I've wanted to do since last year. I may tweak it a bit more but for now here are the results:

I had an old frame that I had painted last year but that was as far as I got. I did have some gingham ribbon on the frame but I didn't like how it looked and I've thought about adding snowflakes in white around the frame. I think I'll just look at it for a day or two.

Anyway, I started with Tim Holtz Tissue Tape and stuck it around the inner frame. Inked up some old "note" paper and stuck it on the inside with decoupage. Stuck on the red ribbon around the outer frame, adhered the tree and put bells on it for ornaments(inspiration for this came  in my the photo and luckily I found a tree
in my crafty Christmas stuff. I then sprayed it with Perfect Pearls Mist in Sunflower Sparkle. Cut out many layers of PTI vintage ornaments from cereal box and stuck them together like Betsy showed us how to do on another MIM. Tied some fiber on them and hung them on the inside of the frame with a needle tool and some glue. I inked up the chipboard letters with Festive Berries ink by Tim Holtz and used white acrylic paint around the edges. Added the glittery bird and that was about it.  Thanks to PTI for helping me get my project done!!

Thanks for stopping.  It's been a long week after my DD had a tonsillectomy a week ago. Finally seeing a little improvement today!!! Thank goodness
