For the day five challenge over at Papertrey Ink, we had to use a stamp set that had not been inked up yet. I just got the Layered Banner Banter Set and I needed to make a masculine birthday card so I figured I could make that work. I really love the banner. It's large enough that you can use it as the focal point and you don't really need to add anything else if you don't want.
So, here it is:
So, I think I have one more to do and I will have to find some other challenges to do to keep me busy! This has helped pass the time quite quickly today!! See you real soon!

Well, The happy is cut from a silver metallic paper and birthday is embossed in white. I can see now that they look just about the same! Too much light perhaps. Sorry. Have a super day!!

Make It Monday # 191: Glittered Frames
I'm posting a MIM challenge found over at Capture the Moment and it's only Wednesday. I never get them done on Monday and rarely during the week. Yup, I'm one of the ones scrambling to finish on Sunday night! I do have a good reason to have it done and in the mail since my brother's birthday is coming up! I'm pretty sure he does not read this so I'm going to post it today. Happy Birthday Mark!!
Anyway, the challenge was to make a glittered frame. No problem with that one, I love to use bling and glitter!! Dawn gave us some tips in the video you can find here. Why not check out the video and give it a try!!
I used some of the remaining pieces that I hadn't used from the card I made for the Blog Hop on the 25th.
I also stamped some snowflakes in the background with A Tim Holtz stamp and some Dazzle Versamark ink.
I used the Phrase Play #9(I think) Die for the snowflake and winter banner. Birthday wishes is from the Phrase Play Stamp Set #6. Martha Stewart Glitter and Score Tape for my frame.
Thannks for stopping by today!!

Make It Monday # 146 Angled Backgrounds
Talk about using up my scrap paper stash! Woo Hoo!! Ashley showed us how to make angled backgrounds without a die. This was a great challenge for using all those paper scraps lying around that you don't have the heart to throw away. You can find the challenge at Nichole's BLOG.
I really needed to make a birthday card for one of my big brothers since his birthday is January 2nd. I wish I had a picture of him with my Mom way back in '61 when he was baby of the year. Believe it or not, no-one was born on the 1st at Cape Fear Valley Hospital in Fayetteville, NC! Anyway, on to the card:
This next picture, I tried to get a close up of the washi tape I added, it says "made with love".
I guess I need to invest in a new lens for close-ups one of these days! That's the best I could do.
